This is the inaugural year for the Nootka Sound Tuna Showdown at Moutcha Bay Resort in Nootka Sound on Vancouver Island. This competitive event is an exciting new addition to the west coast fishing tournament scene. This event brings together anglers of all skill levels to compete for top prizes while celebrating the region's world-class Pacific Albacore tuna fishery. With a focus on sustainable fishing practices, camaraderie, and thrilling offshore action, the Tuna Showdown promises to be an unforgettable experience for participants.

In 2025, this seven-day tournament will take place September 7-13, 2025 with registration and kick-off party and registration on September 6, 2025. Teams will fish offshore in some of the most productive waters of the Pacific. Albacore are known for their speed and intense fights, providing both thrilling sport and high-quality meat. Teams will compete for many prizes including the largest Albacore tuna of the week. Expect to see a variety of evening events throughout the week including live music, Conuma Grill dinner events, photo contests, dance party, and fireworks! As always, our goal is to create memorable experiences for avid anglers through fun and competitive events such as this!
